FACTS ABOUT CHIRADZULU
Chiradzulu is a district in the Southern Region of Malawi. The district covers an area of 767 sq. km. and has a population of 236,050.
Chiradzulu is a historical town lying between Blantyre and Zomba, having been settled by early missionaries to Malawi and the Chilembwe uprising that happened there in 1915. Chiradzulu has an agrarian economy with the main cash crop being tobacco, food crops grown there are maize, beans, groundnuts, soya beans and pigeon peas.
Chiradzulu has seven second level subdivisions of 1. TA Chitera, 2. TA Nchema, 3. TA Mpama, 4. Chiradzulu Boma, 5. TA Kadewere, 6. TA Likoswe and 7. TA Nkalo.
