Malawi is already making strides to improve its farm inputs subsidy programme to, among other things, make it smarter through the introduction of E-vouchers in line with a recent policy directive from President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika that government services and operations be digitised.

“Many benefits will accrue from the E-voucher subsidy system, including more efficiency and customisation of the programme using geo-spatial mapping to deliver the right fertiliser to given districts,” says Changaya

“We are thankful to the World Bank for the support in an area that is aligned with Pillar 1 of the MW2063 on agricultural productivity and commercialisation,” he said.
