The National Planning Commission (NPC) and the Presidential Strategic Reforms Implementation Unit (PSRIU) today Tuesday December 22, 2025 visited the Immigration Department headquarters in Blantyre to strengthen the implementation of initiatives aimed at accelerating the achievement of the Malawi 2063 First 10-Year Implementation Plan (MIP-1) and the 2025-2030 ruling party manifesto promises.
The NPC is collaborating with PSRIU to ensure that government projects and strategic initiatives are well-aligned with the MIP-1, on which manifesto promises were grounded.
It is important to note that by statute, all the manifestos are aligned to the MW2063 and the NPC-supported political parties in ensuring their promises are strategic vehicles for accelerating the 2030 milestones of achieving middle-income status and most of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Welcoming the delegation, Immigration Department’s Commissioner for Administration, Mr Vivian Kasambo, emphasised the department’s readiness to embrace accountability and noted that “as Immigration, we are ready to track our progress and do evidence-based reporting”.
NPC Director General Fredrick Changaya said that for Malawi to achieve transformation, all government ministries, departments, and agencies must work together and ensure that all their projects and programmes are aligned with Malawi 2063.
Another highlight of the meeting was the Malawi Presidential Strategic Reforms Dashboard, a digital platform for reporting, tracking and monitoring public sector projects and programmes.
It is a practical mechanism for measuring progress, promoting transparency, and ensuring that reforms remain on track toward the realisation of Malawi 2063.
