Ntcheu is a district in the Central Region of Malawi. The district covers an area of 3,424 sq. km. and has a population of 659,608.
It borders with Mozambique and has a secondary border post for the two countries. Ntcheu Boma, the main town of the district lies around halfway between Malawi's majors cities of Blantyre and Lilongwe. Agriculture is the main economic activity of the district with main crops grown tobacco as a cash crop, maize, beans, soya and other pulses. Parts of the district are in a temperate weather zone enabling growing of horticultural crops like Irish potatoes, tomatoes, onions, peas and other vegetables which are then supplied to the capital city Lilongwe and commercial city of Blantyre. The main market for these produce is Lizulu market on the Lilongwe-Ntcheu road.
