Ntchisi is a district in the Central Region of Malawi. The district covers an area of 1,655 sq. km. and has a population of 317,069.

Agriculture is the main commercial activity of the district. The main cash crop grown in Ntchisi is tobacco while other food crops grown in the district are maize, soya, groundnuts, cassava, peas, beans and sorghum. Some areas of Ntchisi have a semi temperate seasonal weather which is influencing surge in horticultural activity with produce from there finding market in the nearby capital city Lilongwe.
