The National Planning Commission (NPC) was among the key participants at the National Children’s Congress of the Catholic Church in Malawi, held at Don Bosco in Lilongwe on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Speaking during the conference, NPC Development Planning Officer Madalitso Chambukira engaged the children on the Malawi 2063 (MW2063) Vision, explaining its significance and how it will impact them as future citizens of the country.

“Malawi 2063 is a vision that will help you as young children, and for it to be successfully implemented, it also needs you to be its ambassadors,” Chambukira said.

He further outlined the three pillars and seven enablers of the vision, emphasizing their role in transforming Malawi into an inclusively wealthy and self-reliant nation.

Chambukira encouraged the children to take an active interest in national development and to view themselves as key drivers of change.

The conference brought together children from all districts across the country under the theme “Children Are the Missionaries of Hope.”

The gathering aimed to amplify the voices of young people and inspire them to make meaningful contributions to national development goals.
