The National Planning Commission (NPC) is holding a four-day workshop to develop the Integrated Mindset Change Programme (IMCP) Strategy.
The gathering at Mponela in Dowa has brought together representatives from the Department of Civic Education, the Ministry of Gender, National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE), the National Youth Council of Malawi, and World Vision Malawi.
The goal is to come up with a strategy that can be used at all levels to promote positive, ethical, and productive attitudes and behaviours that will drive the realisation of Malawi 2063 and MIP-1.
The strategy is being shaped using knowledge and ideas collected from consultation meetings previously held in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, and Blantyre.
During those meetings, leaders from different backgrounds such as traditional, religious, student, and policy development, shared their views and recommendations on how best Malawi can encourage a positive mindset to speed up national development.
Speaking during the meeting, NPC Development Planning Manager Mr. Sipho Billiati stressed the importance of involving leaders from across the country in shaping the IMCP strategy.
Dr. Misheck Munthali, Director of the Department of Civic Education, noted that mindset change is central to national transformation.
