The National Planning Commission (NPC), through its Youth Core Advisory Panel (Youth CAP), in collaboration with the Campaign for Female Education (CAMFED), today Friday, February 20th 2026 held strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Lilongwe to strengthen its operational framework and enhance youth participation in national development in line with the Malawi 2063 (MW2063) vision.
The engagement brought together members and representatives from key stakeholder institutions, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Department of Economic Planning and Development (EP&D), and the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM).
Speaking during the meeting, NPC Director of Development Planning Dr. Grace Kumchulesi, emphasised the need for participants to adopt a creative, practical and forward-looking approach in shaping the proposed activities.
“It is important for us to keep generating ambitious ideas that reflect the needs and aspirations of Malawians in the attainment of MW2063, which is inherently youth-centred,” she said.
Director of Youth in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ms. Judith Msusa, underscored the Government’s commitment to ensuring that young people are placed at the centre of development.
Among the expected outcomes of the meeting are a consolidated list of activities with clear targets and timelines, as well as agreed action groups that will support the effective execution of the advisory role while ensuring that the interests and voices of young people are meaningfully integrated into national development processes.
