Optimization of agriculture productivity is one key policy and programmatic focus of Malawi 2063 Pillar one. Mechanization is one of the strategic investment interventions needed to spearhead the drive to higher agriculture productivity and commercialized agriculture system. This policy briefs discusses status of Mechanisation in Malawi’s agriculture, policy propositions and priority options which ought to be acted on if the mechanization drive is to productively transform agriculture towards attainment of a lower middle-income status for Malawi.
