NPC spokesperson named best 2022 PR practitioner
Malawi’s Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) has named National Planning Commission (NPC) Public Relations and Communications Manager Thom Khanje as best PR practitioner in Malawi in the year 2022.
This was announced on Friday October 28, 2022 during the society’s annual lakeshore conference held in Mangochi.
Announcing Khanje’s award, a member of the panel of judges Henry Chimbali said
Khanje did not only get the highest number of nominations but most importantly, the judges were hugely persuaded with how “he defied all known bottlenecks of the profession to champion, with much success, a massive PR campaign that has the entire nation and even beyond as a target audience.”
“The winner has managed to build, from scratch, brand image for his organization and that of Malawi’s widely talked about national agenda to the level that it’s now a household name.
“There’s no denying that Malawi 2063 (national vision) is now widely known and has been embraced by many stakeholders, including members of the public, because of the extensive awareness campaign that is being implemented by NPC with support from various stakeholders.
“All this attest to the leadership, innovation and service demonstrated by the winner in the execution of such massive PR campaign,” said Chimbali.
Reacting to the news, Khanje said the award goes to the whole team at NPC and various stakeholders with whom he continues to work together in taking the national vision to the people of Malawi.
“We do everything together at NPC and this award has come about because of the excellent team work in the implementation of the Malawi 2063 Popularisation Strategy,” said Khanje.
He also thanked various stakeholders who support NPC in the awareness campaign of the national vision.
