The National Planning Commission (NPC) has on Friday July 21, 2023 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Farm Radio Trust to facilitate a robust partnership between the two organizations in the implementing and popularisation of the Malawi 2063 national vision and the MW2063 First 10-Year Implementation Plan (MIP-1).
The ceremony took place at NPC offices in Lilongwe where NPC Director General Dr. Thomas Munthali and the Farm Radio Trust Chief Executive Officer Mr. George Vilili signed the agreement on behalf of their institutions.
Munthali expressed excitement at the MOU, saying it will ensure that messages on the MW2063, particularly around the first pillar of Agricultural Productivity and Commercialisation, reach the key stakeholders, including rural communities and farmers.
“This agreement will empower farmers and all stakeholders in agriculture and spur them into action,” he said.
On his part, Vilili said the MoU will play a critical role in raising people’s awareness through their various platforms ensuring that Malawi 2063 is being achieved. – By Mustafa Makumba.
