The National Planning Commission (NPC) through the National Initiative for Civic Education (NICE) today engaged community leaders in Lilongwe’s Chilinde township on their role in the realisation of the Malawi 2063 national vision.
The discussions took place at Chiwoko L.E.A School and brought together community and religious leaders.
Ruth Mkisi, NPC Development Planning Officer, urged unity and patriotism among leaders in mobilising communities towards ownership of the vision.
“We all have a role to play in the realisation of the MW2063 by embracing hardwork, self-reliance and hate for handouts, with you as leaders doing it by example,” she said.
She emphasized that a crucial element in achieving the MW2063 is a collective mindset change towards positivity and a drive for honest wealth creation.
NICE Lilongwe District Coordinator, Hajira Maulidi Ali, passionately advocated for citizen participation as the pathway to achieving MW2063.
