The Director General of National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr. Thomas Munthali today August 5th, 2024 paid a courtesy call on the Lilongwe City Mayor, Her Worship Esther Sagawa at the civic offices in Lilongwe. The meeting was aimed at fostering collaboration and discussing key issues related to urban development and planning in the city.
During the meeting, Dr. Munthali commended the Mayor’s efforts in driving growth and development in the city. He highlighted the importance of priotising intervations that are in line with the Malawi 2063 First 10-Year implementation Plan (MIP-1) in achieving sustainable urbanization and offered support from NPC.
In her remarks, Sagawa emphasized the need for continued collaboration to address pressing urban challenges. She also shared details of initiatives and projects underway to enhance Lilongwe’s growth, beauty and convenience.
