The National Planning Commission (NPC) has called upon religious leaders in Malawi to be at the forefront in promoting mindset change towards positivity and wealth creation among their congregants.
This appeal was made during the MW2063 Religious Leaders Engagement Meeting held at Chikho Hotel in Mponela, Dowa.
NPC Director of Development Planning Dr. Grace Kumchulesi said religious leaders are very influential in the Malawian society as almost every citizen belongs to one religion or the other.
“People respect, trust and listen to their religious leaders, so you are a powerful force through which positive mindset change can be achieved in this country,’ she said.
Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Rev Brian Kamwendo dared his fellow clergymen to take up the challenge, saying the Malawi 2063 national vision cannot be achieved if citizens themselves don’t own it.
The meeting brought together religious leaders from various denominations across Malawi, providing a platform for discussion on the importance of collaboration between the clergy and the NPC.
