National Planning Commission (NPC) has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) aimed at facilitating industrialisation for national development.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, NPC Director General Dr. Thomas Munthali said through the MoU, the two institutions will combine efforts in supporting Malawi’s journey towards industrialisation.
“MUST has the key through their innovations hubs, therefore by embracing these capabilities, the nation’s Vision through the pillar of Industrialisation can be achieved as we are envisioning the middle income status”, said Dr. Munthali.
On her part, MUST Vice Chancellor Prof. Address Malata who is also a champion of Malawi 2063 Human Capital Development said this MoU has come at the right time as through innovation, the country can make a difference in industrialisation.
“MUST has always embraced the spirit of innovation and industrialisation through it’s students by introducing innovation hubs and programmes that bring peoples ideas to life, this is good to the nation as our innovation hubs welcome anyone without considering academic qualification”, said Prof. Malata.
